Air dryer type L (DIN 42562 / EN 50216-5) is used for drying the intake air of transformers. When the operating temperature of the transformer drops, the air is sucked through the oil chamber, cleaned by dirt particles and then dried by the silica gel filling inside modules B1 and B2 (optional).

The oil reservoir prevents constant contact between the dryer filler and the moist outside air and cleans the incoming air. When the insulating liquid is heated, the air leaves the expansion tank and flows in the opposite direction inside the air dryer. The size of the air dryer type L to be used depends on the oil volume and the frequency of air exchange.

The air dryer type L consists of a top (B1) and an oil reservoir (OV). Depending on requirements, additional intermediate modules (B2) filled with 1.2 kg silica gel are used.

All fasteners are available in A4 stainless steel for better corrosion resistance.
